Trending: PB Protein Balls Recipe

After trial and error, I have perfected my protein ball recipe! You will see tons of variations of this recipe all over the web, but in my opinion, this is a combination of all of the best. The recipe makes enough for me and my husband to both eat a few every day for about a week. I like them for breakfast or dessert ;) and he takes them every day in his post-workout lunch! Here it is:


2 cups dry oatmeal

1 cup dark chocolate chips (I recommend Ghiradelli's 70% cacao)

1 cup peanut butter (crunchy is my preference as well)

1 cup ground flaxseed*

generous 1/2 cup honey

2 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (toasted or not)


Start by stirring the mixture all together with a big spatula and then use your hands to finish up and form 1-inch round balls. Place rolled mixture onto a cookie sheet and place in fridge to harden before you can dump them all in a ziplock and store in fridge for about a week!

*Flaxseed is known to be a superfood with many, many benefits. However, many believe that our bodies are unable to properly digest flaxseed in its whole form. Make sure you are purchasing GROUND flaxseed and feel free to research it's boasted benefits for yourself.
